Katie Brown has been a competitive horseback rider since she began showing pony hunters on the A circuit in the 1990’s. She went on to excel as a junior rider in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings, competing at the USEF Medal Finals and USET Talent Search Finals in 2004 and 2005 as well as representing Zone 4 at the North American Young Riders Championship and Prix de States. As a junior and then as an amateur Katie ribboned in Grand Prix up and down the east coast. As well as competing the highest national level, Katie has been importing and producing horses for resale since she was 15.
After taking a break for school and travel she returned to the industry as a professional in 2010. She has managed several top Grand Prix riders and their stables as well as spending years coaching juniors and amateurs from the ponies to Grand Prix. As a professional Katie has several USHJA Derby wins under her belt. Today her objectives continue to be matching the highest quality horse with the most appropriate rider to produce maximum competitiveness. She is interested solely in coaching both horse and rider to their full potential whether for recreation or toping the leaderboard.
